How our AI reads the cards
Tarotez uses the full 78-card Rider–Waite deck — the most widely studied tarot in the world, drawn by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909. Each card carries layers of symbolism; the meaning depends on the question, the spread, and the relationship between the cards drawn.
When you reveal a reading, we send your question, the reading type, the category, and the cards you picked to a large language model. The model is prompted to interpret them in a grounded, reflective tone — no scare tactics, no cold reading, no guarantees about the future. Your question is not written to our database — unless you choose to keep the reading afterwards, which saves it to your own history and nowhere else.
Tarot is a tool for reflection, not prediction. Treat readings as prompts for thought, not substitutes for professional advice.
Frequently asked
Is Tarotez really free?
Yes. Every account gets 3 readings a day at no cost, with no credit card required, plus 3 follow-up questions on each reading. Unlimited readings and all reading types unlock with a €3.99 / month subscription.
Do I need any tarot experience?
No. Type a question in plain language, pick cards with your gut, and read the interpretation. Tarotez works for curious beginners and seasoned readers alike.
How does the AI interpret the cards?
Your question, the reading type, and the cards you picked are sent to a large language model prompted to read them in the Rider-Waite tradition. The response is a grounded, reflective interpretation — not a prediction.
Is my question private?
By default, yes — your question is sent to the interpreter, used to write the reading, and not written to our database. Nothing is kept unless you press “Keep this reading”.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel from your account page at any time via the Stripe Customer Portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
